My Training Philosophy:
Knowledge, Patience, and Practice
My training philosophy is informed by over 25 years working as a canine trainer and handler for the Department of Homeland Security, blended with my own experience training and handling my personal service dog, Jake.
Whether training a household companion or working dog, meeting your goals in relationship with your dog requires three basic pieces:
Knowledge
Patience
& Practice
Knowledge
Understanding how dogs learn is the cornerstone of training. Our K9 training relies on the most recent information that shows dogs learn by association and positive consequences. Our training will reinforce good behaviors and will extinct the bad ones.
Patience
Having patience while training is vital to the success of your bond with your dog, and ultimately the achievement of your training objectives. Creating a positive and confident relationship with your dog will build loyalty that will result in years of happiness and fulfillment with your canine partner.
Consistency and dedication to your training objectives are imperative. While we provide the information you need, ultimately it’s you- your dogs trainer and handler- that is the key to success. We will give you the building blocks to be the trainer your dog needs!
